Sprint CUP by Funyo : The curtain falls on a thrilling season at Le Mans!

The legendary Circuit Bugatti du Mans hosted this weekend the last round of the 2024 Sprint CUP by Funyo season, with no less than 26 cars entered. Despite the biting cold, the drivers had the chance to ride on a dry track, conducive to high-intensity clashes. 

The two-time defending champion Xavier Fouineau (#24 HMC Racing) has once again proved that he is the boss of the Sprint CUP by Funyo. With three wins in four races over the weekend, he clinched his third consecutive crown and entered a little more into the championship legend. Romain Boeckler (#2 LVR), who won the race, has been a shining star throughout the season and is positioning himself as a serious contender for the future. Nicolas Robin (#69 DAFA Racing) finished his season in style with a constant presence on the podium, while Sean Canivet (#7 L'Ecurie Française) confirmed all his potential by taking a superb third place overall after a final meeting under pressure.

In the U23, the fight was intense between Romain Boeckler and Jérémy Siffert (#54 HMC Racing). The latter, with his selection to the prestigious Junior Programme Porsche Carrera Cup France, was crowned champion of the category. Sacha Clavadetscher and Hugo Roueche (#95 #96 L'Ecurie Française) didn’t give up, making the battle even more intense. Sean Canivet, for his first season, also stood out by taking every opportunity to score valuable points.

Cédric Gardin (#14 HMC Racing) wins the Gentlemen after an impressive season, but he had to fight against a very fit Pascal Lecomte (#55 LVR) and a vindictive Frank Lefèvre (#26 HMC Racing). Yves Orhant (#35 YO), always regular, as well as Jean-Claude Rolland, Chris Coppeland (#28 #201 HMC Racing) and Livio Elia (#33 L'Ecurie Française) offered an intense show where every overtaking count.

The Challengers were unsure until the last race. Jean-Christophe Robin (#277 DAFA Racing) finally won the title after a high-flying weekend, relegating Dekel Naar (#49 LVR) to second place. Edoardo Elia (#33 L'Ecurie Française) and Frédéric Greiling (#30 HMC Racing) were not unworthy, each winning a podium after fierce clashes.

The spectators also had the joy of witnessing the return of the Funyo F5, old-generation cars still as spectacular and timeless. French motorsport legend Alain Serpaggi has once again proved his prowess by taking the podium despite a first take-over this weekend. The fights between Julien Lebeaupin, David Gallioz, Olivier Tabone, Louis Mainguy and Louis Bourgoin added a touch of nostalgia and intensity to this final.

This 2024 season of the Sprint CUP by Funyo will remain in memory for its close battles, emerging talents and inexhaustible passion of the drivers. The spotlight is now on 2025, where new challenges and unforgettable moments await motorsport enthusiasts.
