The Sprint CUP by Funyo championship will mark its first stop of the 2024 season on the Lédenon circuit from May 10 to 12.
The championship has several new features for this new 2024 season:
A program of 6 meetings, including a trip abroad to the prestigious F1 circuit at Zandvoort.
A new driver category: Challengers (aged 24 to 49)
The Gentlemen driver category, rejuvenated from 55 to 50 years of age.
The Espoirs category (aged 16 to 23)
A place in the prestigious Junior Programme Porsche Carrera Cup France 2024 will be reserved for the leader of the Espoirs category.
What won't change in 2024 :
Race format: 2 practice sessions, 2 qualifying sessions and 4 20-minute races per meeting
3 Michelin Motorsport slicks per season
Possibility of 2 drivers sharing the wheel
A convivial evening at each meeting
A draw for a Michelin Motosport tire at each meeting
Seasonal cost control
The new season promises to be a thrilling one, with an armada of talented young drivers determined to take on the world.
On the competitive side, two-time title-holder Xavier Fouineau (HMC Racing #24) will be hard-pressed to retain his crown against a horde of talented contenders.
Romain Boeckler (Loire Valley Racing #2), winner of four races in 2023, Cédric Gardin (HMC Racing #14), Endurance CUP by Funyo 2023 champion, Brian Ruffino (Spirit of P. Bouazis Still Racing #287) and brothers Jean-Christophe and Nicolas Robin (DAFA Racing #277 #69), regulars at the front, are all ready to dethrone him.
Eric Soares (HMC Racing #79), known for his lightning speed, Dekel Samuel Naar (Loire Valley Racing #49), and Fabien Bornancin (Kairos Racing #99) will show that they can be counted on in the leading pack.
Edoardo Elia, who teams up with his father Livio (L'Écurie Française #33), will also have something to say.
Rémy Brouard and Jean-Claude Rolland (HMC Racing #78 #28), the veterans of the Gentleman category, promise to put on a great show. They'll have to watch out for Pascal Lecomte (Loire Valley Racing #55), a newcomer determined to make his mark.
In the U23 category, Romain Boeckler will attempt to defend his title against a promising new generation.
Hugo Roueche, Sacha Clavadetscher and Sean Canivet (L'Écurie Française #96 #95 #7), as well as Jérémy Siffert (HMC Racing #54) are all ready to shake up the hierarchy.
This season, the leader of the Espoirs category will earn a place in the prestigious Junior Programme Prosche Carrera Cup France, promising a great battle on the track!
