Boosted by more than 20 years’ experience on the circuits, French prototype constructor Funyo Racing in partnership with manufacturer Michelin Motorsport will add another string to its bow in 2022. Next season the
Challenge Montagne by Funyo will be held in the context of the French Hill Climb Championship (CFM). It will be based around 4 blue-ribbon events in the 1st division.
For 20 years Funyo has been building ready-to-race cost-capped prototypes.
The Funyo SP05 EVO powered by a 1.6L 270 bhp GTI 308 turbo engine for a weight of 670 kg has got what it takes to seduce the greatest possible number of clients.
These prototypes no longer have anything to prove in terms of reliability and performance. The SP05 EVO is easy to get to grips with and it appeals to both debutant drivers and the most experienced old hands because of its easy maintenance and very reasonable running costs.
The constructor will provide technical support for the teams present In the Challenge Montagne by Funyo.
No modifications are required and the SP05 Evo will have the same configuration for the mountains as for the championships on asphalt circuits.
In addition, there will be various prizes and random draws to be won by the teams entered.
In 2021, Funyos competed in the Mont-Dore and Turckheim hill climbs in the CN3 category. Their drivers (amateurs without any hill climbing experience) finished on the podium twice. And the cherry on the cake was Jonathan Dessens’ (AMGV Sport Racing) 17th place overall at the Mont-Dore event in the CN group!
